Very pleased with this product

Simple Sturdy Crib

I just moved and my crib broke during the move! We needed a new one asap. Our old one was a drop side and I didn’t think it was necessary. I was looking for something affordable, simple, attractive, sturdy and safe so I decided to buy the Graco Lauren Crib. I put it together by myself and it was pretty simple. It is sturdy and the rails are closer together than my old crib, I like that. I also like that it will convert into a toddler bed when we reach that stage.

Graco Lauren Classic Crib in Espresso

The Graco Lauren Crib has been a great bargain so far. My husband put it together easily, he said you just need to pay attention to the labels on the wood pieces. The crib itself looks very nice once assembled and completed with mattress and bedding set. With the right bedding set, this crib can look like an expensive set-up for a bargain. I was debating on this crib or one twice the price, but I’m glad I saved the $100 and went with this one. This crib is great and I can’t understand why I would want to spend any more money than what it cost; plus its convertible so it will last for a long time. Another feature I really like is the shape of the bars on the crib. They aren’t round or square. They are rectangle with rounded corners. I thought they would be square, and have always been concerned about a baby falling over from a sitting position and smacking its head on the sharp corners of the bars. That isn’t a worry with this crib. I was also worried about the height of the sides of the crib because I am shorter, 5’3″. I currently have the crib set to the second to lowest position and have no problems picking my son up out of it. Overall, I’m very pleased with this crib.

Here are the reported disadvantages of the Graco Lauren Crib:

• As is common with cribs in this class and higher, some parents reported their child was able to leave scatches in the wood railing. The solution for this is to utilize inexpensive wood railing protectors to minimize this issue.
• The older model of this crib that had a drop side and was recalled however the models currently being sold have a fixed side that doesn’t lower so this is no longer an issue.
